NEXT CLUB MEETING

June 25th, 2024 – McDonald’s Summer Event, Spring Cypress, Texas

Houston Brick Club was invited to display at Mcdonald’s Summer Event. Five of our members rose to the challenge! It was a great event, the Mcdonalds Mangers and employees were incredibly gracious making sure we were well watered and fed during the event! We had 115 people in attendance (40 parents, 60 kids and 15 teens). The Mcdonalds Event Coordinator has already invited us back for other events!

June 15th – Club Meeting – Bricks & Toys Destination – Katy, Texas

We had our monthly club meeting at Bricks and Toys Destination in Katy, Texas. We had 15 club members in attendance. Our challenge build was a series 26 CMF habitat build. Here are the winners. 1st was Dom with the saucer head build, 2nd was Jeff with the Mtron build, and 3rd was Emily with the classic space astronaut! We also discussed all of our upcoming events and our plans for Brick Rodeo.

June 1st – Artist’s at Play – Pearl Fincher Museum

Houston Brick Club had an amazing display event at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts in Spring, Texas. Twelve of our adult members participated and two of our teen members. This event was available to the public from June 1st – August 17th.

Four of our members, Rebecca Council, Aaron Gagui, Jose Ruiz, and Jason Maggitti showcased Lego© models representing photos taken by Mitchel Wu. Club member and Lego© Master Contestant Tim Howell displayed an incredible seek and find build of the clue game. The rest of the team diplayed an incredibly detail packed minifigure habitat consisting of over 50 mini habitats! What an incredible opportunity it was to display at the museum for our community.

May 24th-26th – Comicpalooza

Houston Brick Club had an amazing display this year at Comicpalooza! We had 20 members participate. The club mosaic collaboration also made it’s debut! Our mosaic was from the graffiti artist Gonzo who gave us permission to recreate his artwork in Lego©. Brick club member Greg Jonason mapped out this artwork and 32 members assembled this project in sections.

This event was an amazing success as thousands of passerby’s stopped to talk about Lego© and were amazed by the builds and huge mosaic.

May 19th – Club Meeting – Lego Store Woodlands Mall

We had a great turnout for the club meeting at the Lego Store in The Woodlands Mall. We had 20 members attend. We chose the metallic Parabolic ring (75937  2×2 Bar Frame Octagon) as the seed part for next month’s 16×16 build challenge.

We went over our upcoming events and are excited about our club mosaic that will make it’s debut at Comicpalooza May 24-26th!

March 24th, 2024 – Club Meeting – Bricks & Minifigs Pearland

We had our monthly club meeting at the Pearland Bricks & Minfigs. A big thanks to them for hosting our meeting! Approximately 18 members were present. We went over all of our upcoming events and then dove into creating minifigure habitats! These habitats will be on display at the Pearl Fincher Museum. A great time was had by all!

March 29th, 2024 – Texas Children’s Hospital

Houston Brick club set up a display at the Texas Children’s Hospital on Good Friday. We had 10 members who set up displays on the skybridge. We had a good crowd come through to view our displays and talk about lego! we had approximately 2200 adults, 100 teens, and 300 kids viewing our display. The hospital graciously provided us with tables and chairs. We had a great time at this event and look forward to returning!
